As an experienced general solicitor, Sholto takes a practical approach to assisting clients with their businesses, with real estate transactions, and estate planning to ensure that clients receive timely,  comprehensive advice.

Sholto enjoys helping clients from all over the world buy and sell Whistler homes and investment properties, working with their professional advisors including realtors, mortgage brokers, accountants and family offices to provide tailored and pragmatic advice for each transaction.

Local entrepreneurs seek his advice on the legal aspects of buying, operating, and selling a business, including incorporating, amalgamations, negotiating shareholder agreements, commercial leasing, joint ventures and partnerships, and reorganizations.

Sholto’s practice also includes estate and succession planning. He is a trusted legal advisor, assisting clients with drafting wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and transfers of assets to family members.

Sholto obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and received his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2003. He is an active member of the volunteer community, and has been the vice-chair of the Whistler Chamber, president of the Whistler Community Foundation, a board member of AWARE, and is currently on the board of Freestyle Whistler (though not in any part due to his skiing abilities).

Outside of the office, Sholto can be found exploring the local lakes and mountains with his family and friends.  He is an avid skier, hiker and mountain biker.
