About Ryan Kinghorn

Ryan is an Associate Lawyer at Race and Company LLP. Having joined Coast Mountain Law right out of law school in 2020, Ryan now has a well-established family law and litigation practice.

He assists clients with a variety of issues including property protection and division, parenting arrangements, child support, spousal support, protection orders and relocation. He regularly represents clients in both Provincial and Supreme Court, as well in dispute resolution processes such as mediation.

He understands the intricacies of family law issues, whether the clients are commencing a spousal relationship or separating from one. He is committed to advising clients through these deeply personal and important matters with integrity, reliability and transparency. Ryan speaks with honesty and is known for his direct communication style and exceptional responsiveness.

Although he is always ready to go to court, Ryan is a strong advocate for out-of-court resolutions. Going to court is sometimes necessary, but it should be a last resort on most family law matters. Ryan always explores collaborative and creative strategies to resolve your matter in a favourable and swift manner. He sets expectations early and ongoing in his client’s matter to avoid unreasonable positions and adverse outcomes.

As a family and litigation lawyer, Ryan is also knowledgeable and experienced in general litigation, wills and estate issues and real estate law.

Ryan is the President on the Board of Directors of the Squamish Chamber of Commerce.

He is also the Supervising Lawyer for the Sea to Sky Community Services Community Law Advocacy Program, which offers free advocacy support and assistance to financially restricted individuals and families in Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton.

Outside of the office, Ryan can be found skiing, mountain biking, trail running, and hiking.
